Magura child rape victim passes away
The eight-year-old who was raped in Magura has passed away. She died at 1pm at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, the Bangladesh Army disclosed in a post from their official Facebook page today (13 March). She had suffered seven cardiac arrests since yesterday and was in a very critical condition. She suffered three cardiac arrest since morning, doctors were able to stabilise her for the first two times but the third cardiac arrest proved fatal.

Magura child rape, murder trial to start by 7 days
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul has said trial in a case over the death of eight-year-old Asiya from Magura after rape will begin within seven days. He provided this information in a press briefing at the Secretariat on Thursday, March 13.The victim breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital, CMH, in Dhaka.

Delhi’s comments tantamount to interference in Bangladesh’s internal affairs: Dhaka
Dhaka on Thursday reacted sharply to Delhi’s recent comments on elections, law and order and minority issues, stressing Bangladesh believes that these are purely its internal matters. "Such comments from India are unwarranted and tantamount to interference in the internal affairs of another country," Spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Rafiqul Alam told reporters at a media briefing while responding to a question.

CA condoles death of Magura rape victim; orders speedy trial
Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus expressed profound shock at the death of the 8-year-old rape victim of Magura at the Combined Military Hospital on Thursday. Prof Yunus also ordered bringing the accused to book through speedy trial, said Chief Adviser`s Deputy Press Secretary Apurba Jahangir. The girl, who was battling for her life after being brutally tortured, passed away at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka this afternoon, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR).

Armed forces’ magistracy powers extended for third time by 60 more days
The magistracy powers of officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force have been extended for the third time for another 60 days, coming into effect from 15 March. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard today (13 March). Earlier on 17 September 2024, army officers were first granted magistracy power to maintain law and order.

DMP bans protests, rallies near Secretariat, CA’s residence, Shahbagh intersection
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all types of public gatherings, rallies, and processions in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat, official residence of the Chief Advisor at Jamuna and key surrounding areas, effective from today until further notice.
