Nahid Islam has resigned from the Advisory Council of the interim government as the information and broadcasting adviser. The report said he will serve as the convener of a new political party that will be launched on 28 February by the Students Against Discrimination (SAD) and the Jatiya Nagorik Committee (JANAC).

Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman has urged members of the armed forces to remain united and resolve internal issues through discussion rather than dispute. He made these remarks today (25 February) at a special event at the RAOWA Club in the capital, commemorating the martyrs of the 2009 Pilkhana massacre.
