They surrounded the house in Bora Rajapur village of Ward No. 1 of Basurhat Municipality in Companiganj Upazila around 1pm today (6 February). During this time, they were heard chanting slogans of "Naraye Takbir, Kauwa Kauwa".

Families of the martyrs of July uprising have blocked Shahbagh intersection demanding the arrest of the accused involved in the murders. he protest began around 11:30am today (6 February). Vehicle movement has been halted in the area due to the blockade, said Mehedi Shakil, assistant commissioner (traffic) of the Shahbagh zone of the Dhaka Metropolitan.

Demolishing Mujib’s house at Dhanmondi-32 resumes after dawn
The demolition of the Sheikh Mujibur Rahman`s Dhanmondi 32 residence in the capital was resumed after a few hours break. People were seen gathering at the area following Fajr prayers. Demolishing work resumed at full swing around 7am in the morning, some were seen collecting iron rod from the rubble. The facade and the front of the main building has already been demolished.

The mural of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, installed in front of the Sylhet District Commissioner`s office, has been demolished with a bulldozer. According to witnesses, a group of angry protesters arrived at the site around 9:30 pm with a bulldozer.

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman`s Dhanmondi 32 residence in the capital was ravaged by a raging crowd yesterday (5 February), marking the six-month anniversary of the July-August uprising that toppled the authoritarian regime of his daughter Sheikh Hasina in August last year. A group of agitated people, including students, first vandalised and set fire to the house around 8:30pm. The destruction and arson continued for hours, and around 11:10pm, the agitators brought an excavator to the spot.

A group of protesters vandalised and set fire to the residence of former Natore-2 MP and district Awami League Vice-President Shafiqul Islam Shimul in the early hours of Thursday. The attack took place around midnight in the Kandivita area of Natore city, where protesters broke into Shimul`s residence, damaged property, and torched a burnt-out vehicle along with other remnants on the premises.
