Titumir College students block Mohakhali-Gulshan road
Students of Government Titumir College blocked the Mohakhali-Gulshan road around 12:20pm today (3 February), demanding the transformation of their institution into a university. Earlier last night, students declared they would block the Gulshan-Mohakhali road and railway lines in Mohakhali from 11am to 10pm today. They are continuing their movement for the sixth consecutive day. Both incoming and outgoing traffic remain stuck as the students put bamboo on the road in front of their college.

Jamaat pledges to honour student sacrifices : Dr Shafiqur Rahman
Jamaat-e-Islami will spare no effort in fulfilling the aspirations of the students who fought during the July uprising, said the party`s Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman. ‘The parents of the martyrs hold their heads high, for not every parent is fortunate enough to raise a hero. We will remain forever indebted to their sacrifices,’ he said on Monday. Dr Shafiqur made the remarks while speaking to reporters after visiting the grave of Ishtiak Ahmed Srabon, a distinguished student of Feni Government College who was killed during the July uprising in Mohipal, Feni.

Middle and lower middle people are struggling to survive in the expensive economy. Fog halts ferry services on Aricha-Kazirhat & Paturia-Daulatdia routes
Ferry services on the Aricha-Kazirhat and Paturia-Daulatdia river routes in Manikganj have been suspended since midnight Sunday due to dense fog. Nasir Chowdhury, deputy general manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), Aricha regional office, said the ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route were suspended due to thick fog around 12am, forcing the authorities to halt the movement of 12 ferries on both sides of the river.

Bodies of 2 more missing students recovered in Sirajganj
The bodies of two more schoolboys who went missing on Saturday afternoon were recovered from the Fuljor River in Sirajganj`s Kamarkhand Upazila on Sunday. Sylhet road crash leaves 5 dead
Sylhet, Feb 2 (UNB) - Five people, including a child, were killed when a truck rammed into a private car on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Unishmile in Osmaninagar upazila of Sylhet district on Sunday.
