Ex-OC who fled from Uttara East police custody likely in India: DMP chief

Shah Alam, former officer-in-charge (OC) who escaped from the custody of Uttara East Police Station, might have fled to India, suspects Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Sajjad Ali. "Police did not release the former OC. They could have let him go when he was in Kushtia if they intended to. He escaped due to negligence, and two officers responsible for that have been dismissed," said the commissioner at a meeting with the newly elected executive committee of the Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) today (21 December).
