Four members of a family were killed and another was injured as a drum truck crashed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Gachtola in Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh on Thursday morning. The truck hit the Netrokona-bound auto-rickshaw around 7:45 am on Mymensingh-Netrakona highway, leaving two people dead on the spot and three others injured, said Shyamganj highway police outpost in-charge Sanjay Chakraborty.

The cause of the devastating fire that engulfed Building No-7 of the Bangladesh Secretariat still remains unknown, said Muhammad Jahed Kamal, Director General (DG) of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD), on Thursday. Speaking at a press conference at the Secretariat at noon, DG Jahed said that the fire had been completely extinguished by 11:45 am.
