Foreign Adviser to attend Kuwait conference

Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain will represent Bangladesh at the high-level conference on “Strengthening International Counter-Terrorism Cooperation and Building Agile Border Security Mechanisms – The Kuwait Phase of the Dushanbe Process” which will be held in Kuwait City on November 4, 5. The conference is important as it will broaden the scope and impact of the Dushanbe Process beyond Central Asia, said the United Nations, noting that this represents a new and significant development in counterterrorism cooperation around the world.

DSE sees early gains with Tk 192 crore traded in first 1.5 hours

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) showed a promising upward trend within the first one and half hours of trading on Sunday, with transactions totaling Tk 192 crore amid significant market activity and selling pressure. Shares and units totaling 8.73 crore were exchanged through 68,320 transactions, reflecting robust engagement across the market. A total of 393 companies were active in trading, with 274 companies recording price increases, 72 companies facing declines, and 49 companies remaining unchanged.

Mega power projects cut 41pc of generation

Country’s five mega power generation projects including import from Adani have cut 41.30 percent of generation due to fuel shortage caused by huge outstanding bills. According to Power Development Board (PDB) four power projects and Adani supply 5,464MW of electricity to the national grid, of them, currently, only 3,207MW of electricity is being supplying to the grid.
