Saudi king recovers after tests for lung ailment

BSF kills 33-year-old man at Cumilla border

Members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a 33-year-old Bangladeshi man near the Paharpur border adjacent to the Jashpur BGB camp in Goliara union of Cumilla Sadar upazila on Monday. The deceased, Kamal Hossain, was the son of Idu Mia and a resident of Jolai Kuriapara village in Sadar upazila. Lt. Col. Md. Iftekhar Hossain, the BGB-10 commander, confirmed the incident.

BAPEX involves exploration without workforce, funds

Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (Bapex), a subsidiary of Petrobangla, has decided to drill 19 new wells in Bhola district to extract gas reserves of 5 trillion but the company don’t have adequate manpower and financial solvency. Experts think, such kind of unrealistic steps will linger the exploration activities. Bapex should be capable to do the big works first then they have to drive in the gas fields.

Eight die in private car crash in Pirojpur

Eight people were killed after a private car lost control and fell into a roadside canal in Pirojpur Sadar upazila early thursday. The incident occurred at the Nurani Gate area along the Pirojpur-Nazirpur road. Fire service personnel, alerted by local residents, recovered the bodies from the submerged vehicle at around 3am. Additional Superintendent of Police in Pirojpur, Md. Mukit Hasan Khan, confirmed the deaths.
