Four new advisers take oath into interim government
Four more advisers to the interim government, led by Chief Adviser Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus, were sworn on Friday (16 August). The new advisers are Economist Wahiduddin Mahmud, former power secretary Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, former cabinet secretary Ali Imam Majumder and former director general of Border Guard Bangladesh Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

Action will be taken if Amry misconducted with people: ISPR
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) media release on Friday (16 August), said legal action will be taken if any army personnel misbehaves with people. According to the ISPR release, some videos showing misconduct by army personnel with some people have been published on various social media. ‘Very strong’ typhoon bears down on Japan

UN chief calls for banning nuclear testing "for good"
