Somalia cafe attack toll climbs to nine: security sources

The death toll from a blast at a cafe in Somalia`s capital Mogadishu has climbed to nine, security sources told AFP Monday, after a car bomb struck the venue packed with football fans watching the Euro 2024 final. Expat’s wife stabbed to death in Jashore

Former councillor found dead in Naogaon

A 47-year-old former councillor, who remained missing since Friday, was found dead at a water body at Patichara in Patnitala upazila of Naogaon district on Sunday (14 July). The deceased was identified as Mizanur Rahman Mitu, former councilor of No 9 ward of Najipur municipality and son of Afsar Ali. Mozaffar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Patnitala Police Station, said farmers spotted the floated body of Mizanur at Saligram Buridah water body in the morning and informed police.

Govt taken initiatives for excavation of canals in Khulna

The government has taken initiatives for the excavation and re-excavation of 61 canals under the Khulna agriculture region aiming at a smooth irrigation to enhance productivity of seasonal crops. The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has already sent a revised proposal for excavation and re-excavation of 61 canals of three districts under the zone to the Ministry of Agriculture for approval, said DAE officials.

One killed in Satkhira road accident

A man was killed as a bus hit his bicycle in Assasuni upazila of the district on Sunday (14 July) morning. The deceased was identified as Rezaul Sana, 60, hailed from Adalotpur village of the upazila.
