A two- and-a- half year old girl, who went missing after a boat sank in the Teesta river on Wednesday night, was found dead in the river at Jigabarir Char in Ulipur upazila of Kurigram district on Saturday (22 June). Explosions were reported near a ship east of the Yemeni port city of Aden on Friday, Britain`s maritime safety agency UKMTO said. Dinajpur Kotwali police today (21 June) arrested a fake female magistrate along with her assistant on the charge of taking Taka 8 lakh from several people on the promise of giving jobs in government offices. Banks’ excess liquidity rose by around Tk 10,000 crore or 5.89 per cent in April compared to March, although the country`s banking sector experienced its lowest deposit growth in 10 months.
