All pending Hajj visa applications will be expedited: Saudi Ambassador
Saudi Ambassador Essa Yousef Essa Alduhailan on Monday assured that he will take steps to clear all pending visa applications from Bangladeshi aspirants to perform Hajj this year. Gazipur hospital authorities blame disorder inside lift for patient’s death
Following the demise of a heart patient inside a lift at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur on Sunday (12 May), the authorities have sent a letter to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), citing the disorder inside the elevator as the reason behind the death. The letter mentioned that the safety system of the lift did not work due to the patient and her relatives consistently pushing on the elevator door. The letter, signed by Dr Jahangir Alam, acting director of the hospital, was sent to the DGHS on Sunday.

Half of Americans consider Ukraine aid spending excessive
Fifty percent of people in the United States believe that their government is spending excessive amounts of money on military and financial assistance to Ukraine, a poll conducted by the Financial Times newspaper and University of Michigan`s Ross School of Business showed on Sunday (12 May).
