On her arrival at Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok at 01:08 pm (local time), the premier was received by Thai Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. She was given a guard of honour and a 19-round gun-salute at the airport.

Drug peddler held with 6.5 kg heroin in Rajshahi

Police in an anti-crime drive arrested an alleged drug peddler with 6.5 kilograms of heroin from Godagari upazila of the district last night. The arrested person was identified as Ezazul Haque Babu, 28, son of Abdul Latif of Diar Manik Char village under Godagari upazila in the district, said the police sources here this afternoon. On a tip-off, a detective police team conducted a raid at Matikata area of the upazila and arrested Ezazul Babu and recovered 6.5 kilograms of heroin from his possession around 3.00 am.

Elephant found dead on Gazipur roadside

A dead elephant was found beside a road near Bhawal National Park in Gazipur`s Rajendrapur area on Tuesday (23 April). Initial investigations by the authorities suggested that the elephant may have been held in captivity. Its tusks were missing, and there was a visible injury on the left side of its head.
