The death toll from collision between two motorcycles in Zakiganj upazila of Sylhet rose to four with death of another victim on Sunday (14 April). Milon Ahmed, 18, son of Sobhan Ali of Madarkhal village in Khalachara union of Zakiganj upazila, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn & Plastic Surgery in Dhaka on Sunday evening.

Fire at power plant disrupts power supply in parts of Sylhet

A fire at the Kumargaon Power Plant in Sylhet has disrupted electricity supply to parts of the city. The fire broke out around 9 am on Monday (15 April). Five units of the fire service rushed to the scene and managed to bring the fire under control after about an hour of effort. Flooding in Kenya kills at least 13, displaces 15000

Heavy rains pounding different parts of Kenya have led to the deaths of at least 13 people and displaced some 15,000, the United Nations said, as forecasters warned more rains can be expected until June. Fire at Ctg Firingi Bazar slum under control

A fire that broke out at a slum in Firingi Bazar area of Chattogram port city on Monday (15 April) afternoon has been brought under control. Dinmoni Sharma, deputy director of Fire Service and Civil Defense said the fire broke out at the slum around 1:30 pm. Crocodile with satellite transmitters released into Sundarbans from Bagerhat

A crocodile released with satellite transmitters attached to its back was found in a fish enclosure in Bagerhat’s Chitalmari Upazila and was released into the Sundarbans on Sunday (14 April). The reptile was handed over to the office of Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Division in Khulna after rescuing it from Bagerhat. The crocodile was spotted at the fish enclosure owned by Hasan Sheikh of Dakshin Shailadah village under the upazila on Friday night. Locals in large numbers started thronging there. The crocodile was immediately rescued.

Couple killed in Gazipur road crash

A man and his wife were killed as bus hit them in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur early Monday (15 April). The deceased were identified as Asif Mahmud, son of Mozammel Haque of Boroitoli village in Kaliakair upazila and his wife Tanjim. At least 19 people have been found dead and two more are missing after a landslide in central Indonesia, local authorities said on Sunday (14 April).
