Bus-private car collision leaves 3 dead in Bogura
Three motor workers were killed and two others injured in a collision between a bus and a private car on Bogura-Naogaon highway at Erulia in Sadar upazila of Bogura district. The deceased were identified as Alamgir Hossain, 45, Abdul Hannan, 55 and Fahim, 42. Iran pays homage to Guards killed in Syria strike
Thousands of people chanted against Israel and the United States at Friday`s (5 April) funeral for seven Iranian Revolutionary Guards, two them generals, who were killed in an air strike in Syria, which Iran blamed on Israel. World food prices rise for first time in 7 months: FAO
Global food prices rose in March, the first increase since July, pulled higher by cooking oil prices despite the cost of grains continuing to ease, the UN`s Food and Agricultural Organization said Friday (5 April). The FAO`s overall Food Price Index climbed 1.1 percent over the month to stand at 118.3 points in March 2024. On an annual comparison it was 7.7 percent lower. The sub-index for vegetable oils jumped by 8.0 percent over the month to reach a one-year high. The FAO said prices for palm, soy, sunflower and rapeseed oils all climbed higher.

Teen hospitalised after savage attack in France
A 15-year-old teenager has been badly beaten in a town south of Paris and rushed to hospital following a cardiac arrest, in the latest incident of school violence in France. Thursday`s (4 April) attack came at a time of heightened tensions around French schools. Earlier this week a teenage girl was left temporarily comatose after being beaten outside her school in the south of the country. In the new incident, which occurred in the town of Viry-ChYtillon, located around 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of Paris, a teenager was attacked by several people as he left school on Thursday afternoon. The public prosecutor`s office said it had opened a probe into attempted murder and gang assault.
