LNG shortage causes power outage in parts of BD

Due to a shortage of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Moheshkhali terminal, power generation has also declined, resulting in nationwide load-shedding in many regions on Saturday (20 January). According to data from the Bangladesh Power Grid Company, the country saw up to 700MW of load-shedding as of the evening. The Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources stated on Facebook that power generation was limited owing to an interruption in LNG supplies from the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) in Moheshkhali.

Two more dies of Dengue in 24Hrs

Two more deaths were reported from dengue in 24 hours till Saturday (20 January) morning, raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 13 this year. During the period, 18 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
