Quader provides update on Metro Rail extension till Tongi

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said a survey is underway for extension of Dhaka Metro Rail from Uttara to Tongi. He said this after inaugurating the Bangabandhu Corner at the DMTCL Building in Uttara’s Diabari. The minister said the construction work of metro rail’s Motijheel to Kamalapur part will be completed by June next year. A decision will be taken after discussion on extending service hours of metro rail on different days including Ijtema and Boi Mela, he said.

Gas supply resumes in parts of Chattogram

Gas supply to Chattagram and elsewhere has started to improve after a floating LNG terminal in Moheshkhali resumed production after its 45-day scheduled maintenance programme. Excelerate Energy’s FSRU started production after scheduled maintenance today. Now it has been supplying 230 million cubic feet of gas per day (mmcfd) and hopefully the supply will reach 500 mmcfd soon, said a top official of the Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Limited (RPGCL).
