The price of onion has started to double up following India’s recent decision to ban export of onion until march of next year on Friday (8 December). On Saturday (9 December) morning, local onions were being sold at Tk220 in different places of the capital. This price was Tk140 just a day ago. Meanwhile, imported or Indian onions were Tk120-140 on Friday (8 December). Now on Saturday morning these onions were being sold at Tk200.
