A group of alleged drug peddlers stabbed two policemen and snatched away two accused in drugs cases at Yusufpur village in Charghat upazila of Rajshahi on Wednesday (29 November) afternoon. Two covered vans were burnt as miscreants hurled ignitable substances on the vehicles on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Bhogra Bypass intersection early Thursday (30 November). Due to negligence, the construction of the bridge over the Dhaleshwari River in Chandhar village of Manikganj, remains incomplete even after five years, leaving local residents in distress. Initiated in 2018 under the "Rural Road Important Bridge Construction Project" to alleviate living costs and enhance communication with Keraniganj in Dhaka, the 315-meter bridge project faced setbacks due to the negligence of the initial contractor. The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) allocated Tk 34 crore 86 lakh 530 for the project.

The encroachment of over 200 illegal brick kilns in Gaibandha has not only wreaked havoc on the health of the local population but has also inflicted severe damage on the environment. The brick production season in Gaibandha witnesses the rampant establishment of these illegal brick kilns in the locality, particularly on agricultural lands near the city, despite the presence of numerous pre-existing illegal brick kilns.
