BD briefs Delhi-based diplomats’ political situation, preparations for polls

Bangladesh has briefed heads of missions (around 90) based in New Delhi on the recent political scenario and preparations for the next general election in Bangladesh. Mentioning that election is a "festive occasion in Bangladesh as we see it in many democratic countries," Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen told ambassadors that people of Bangladesh have been eagerly waiting to take part in the democratic process to vote and elect the representatives of their choice.

‘BNP expects Russia’s positive role in restoring democracy in BD’

BNP on Saturday (25 November) said it expects the positive role of Russia alongside other international community in restoring democracy in Bangladesh. The party expressed the expectation in a statement, signed by its senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, following a statement of Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Bangladesh politics.

The United States has said it is aware of Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova`s "deliberate mischaracterization" of US foreign policy and US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas` meetings. "The United States does not support any political party in Bangladesh. 3 workers die in Chattogram road crash

Three workers of a contractor firm were killed and another was injured when a lorry knocked them down on Dhaka-Ctg highway at Talbaria BISIC road in Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram district on Saturday (25 November).
