Jatiya Party (JaPa) Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu said on Wednesday (22 November), JaPa will participate in the upcoming 12th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election. "We have decided to join the elections following the assurance of the Election Commission and the government," he said during a press briefing on Wednesday. The JaPa leader also added that the party will contest the election with candidates in 300 constituencies.

A Dhaka court on Wednesday (22 November) denied bail to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a case filed over the demolition of the chief justice`s apartment on October 28 during the BNP-police fight. The verdict was pronounced by Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Acting Judge Faisal Atiq Bin Quader`s court after the conclusion of the hearing of the case filed against Fakhrul in connection with the attack on the chief justice`s residence during the party`s rally on October 28.
