Three killed in Satkhira road accident
Three people were killed in a road accident on Satkhira-Khulna highway in Satkhira Sadar upazila early Thursday, said police. The deceased are Arizul Gazi, 28, son of Akbar Ali Gazi, of Jashore’s Jhikargacha upazila, Asadul Islam Fakir, 55, son of Shamsur Kabir of Satkhira’s Tala upazila, and Abdus Selim, 35, son of Abdul Aziz of the same (Tala) upazila.

Amir Hossain Amu remanded for six days
A Dhaka court on Thursday placed former industries minister and senior Awami League leader Amir Hossain Amu on a six-day remand in a case over the killing of businessman Abdul Wadud in Dhaka’s New Market area. Eggs to be supplied to dealers in 11 more markets in capital
In a bid to decentralise the producer-dealer supply of eggs, some seven lakh eggs would be supplied daily to 11 more markets for two weeks on a trial basis alongside Tejgaon Bazar and Kaptan Bazar in the capital. The decision came as part of an initiative to keep the egg prices stable in a view-exchange meeting held at the office of the Directorate of National Consumers’ Right Protection (DNCRP) on Wednesday.
