Three of a family shot dead in Rohingya camp
Three members of a family were gunned down by unidentified terrorists at a Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar early Monday. The deceased were Ahammad Hossain, 65, his son Syedul Amin, 28, daughter Asma Begum, 15. They were residents of camp No-17 of X-block. Confirming the matter, Ukhiya police station’s Officer-in-Charge Arif said they are investigating to identify the killers.

3 CU students injured in clash with Jubo League activists
At least three students of Chittagong University (CU) were injured in clashes with some Jubo League activists over occupying a shop at the rail station of the university early Monday. Gunmen kill 7 in Indian-controlled Kashmir
Gunmen fatally shot at least seven people working on a strategic tunnel project in Indian-controlled Kashmir and injured at least five others, officials said on Monday. Police blamed militants who have been fighting against Indian rule for decades for the “terror attack” at a camp for construction workers near the disputed region’s resort town of Sonamarg. ZI Khan Panna gets anticipatory bail
The High Court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to human rights activist and Supreme Court lawyer ZI Khan Panna in a case filed for attempting to kill a student during the student-led movement on July 19. The HC bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain granted the bail till the submission of the police report when he sought bail after appearing before the court. Senior Advocate Ahsanul Karim stood for Panna.

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md. Nahid Islam said Sheikh Hasina is responsible for the deaths of all the policemen in the July uprising. "We urged Sheikh Hasina to hand over power peacefully. But she did not do so, causing a bloodbath in the country. Ex-minister Imran Ahmad arrested: DMP
Detectives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested former Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad from Banani area of Dhaka on Sunday night. A whatsapp message sent from the DMP confirmed it. However, it didn’t elaborate in which case he was arrested. Imran Ahmed was elected from Sylhet-4 constituency five times and he was appointed as state minister for the expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment in 2018.

Foreign Secretary to lead BD delegation at BRICS Summit in Kazan
Bangladesh will attend the BRICS Summit, a bloc of developing economies, in the city of Kazan, Russia, from Tuesday to Thursday this week. Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin is scheduled to lead the Bangladesh delegation at the Summit, a senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday. The Foreign Secretary is also expected to hold some bilateral meetings with his counterparts from BRICS member countries and invited leaders in Kazan, Russia, he said.

Jabed Bangladesh’s new Ambassador, Permanent Representative to OIC
The government has appointed MJH Jabed, currently consul general in Milan, as the ambassador and permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an office order regarding his new appointment on Sunday. The 57-OIC is largely made up of countries whose people are mainly followers of the Islamic religion. It was established in 1969.
