Metro rail on Agargaon-Motijheel route suspended due to technical glitch

Metro rail service from Dhaka’s Agargaon to Motijheel has been suspended since 9:45 am today due to technical faults. Expressing regret for this inconvenience, the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said they will notify commuters after the operations resume. Movement of the metro rail remains as usual on the Uttara North to Agargaon route, according to a Facebook post of the DMTC on its verified page.

292 cases filed, Tk 11.58 lakh fine imposed for breaching traffic rules: DMP

The traffic division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 292 cases and imposed fine of Tk 11.58 lakh after conducting drives against traffic rule violators on Tuesday. Faruque Hossain, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP, said this in a media release on Wednesday. Thirty-nine vehicles were dumped and 15 others were towed. Activities at Teknaf land port of Cox’s Bazar have come to a halt as bullets from conflict-torn Myanmar are falling on the land port.
