Cyclone `Remal` has damaged crops on 17,796 hectares of land in Khulna, according to the primary assessment of the DAE officials in Khulna. Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Khulna Kazi Jahangir Hossain said the tropical cyclone `Remal` caused extensive damage to the southern coastal areas, especially to the croplands. The crops including paddy, jute, and vegetables covering the areas of 17,796 hectares of farming land have been damaged.
