Awami League General Secretary Obaidul on Saturday (18 May) said there is no need for journalists to enter the central bank because all the information they require are available on the bank’s website. Flash floods kill 50 in western Afghanistan
Flash flooding has killed at least 50 people in western Afghanistan, provincial police said Saturday (18 May)." Fifty residents of Ghor province were killed by the floods on Friday and a number of others are missing," Ghor police spokesman Abdul Rahman Badri said in a statement. The floods destroyed some 2,000 houses and damaged thousands more, he added. "These terrible floods have also killed thousands of cattle... They have destroyed hundreds of hectares of agricultural land, hundreds of bridges and culverts, and destroyed thousands of trees," he added.

9 killed as bus catches fire in India’s Haryana
At least nine people, including six women, were killed and 15 others suffered burns Saturday after a bus carrying them caught fire in the northern Indian state of Haryana, police said. The bus carrying Hindu devotees, including women and children, from neighbouring Punjab state caught fire on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway near Tauru in Nuh district. A moving bus carrying around 60 people caught fire, killing nine people and injuring 15 others, a police official said, adding that the injured were hospitalized and their conditions were reported to be stable.

A crude oil tanker was hit by a missile off the coast of Yemen`s rebel-held city of Mokha overlooking the strategic Bab al-Mandeb strait, maritime security firm Ambrey said Saturday (18 May). Two cousins drowned in a pond at Mominpara area of Gomstapur upazila in Chapainawabganj district on Friday (17 May) afternoon.
