Government can be changed by vote : PM
Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday (18 November) sought doa (blessing) from the countrymen to hold fair and peaceful election, saying the government can be changed only by vote and elections. "We want the voting rights of the people to continue...and the government will be changed through votes," she said while inaugurating selling of AL nomination forms for the 12th parliamentary elections at party`s central office in city`s 23 Bangabandhu Avenue.

7 injured in gas line explosion at Aminbazar
Seven people sustained burn injuries due to a gas line explosion inside a house in Aminbazar area under Savar Model Thana here on Friday (17 November) night. 16 houses gutted in fire in Faridpur
At least 16 houses were gutted in a fire that broke out at a jute mill workers` colony at Kanaipur in Sadar upazila of Faridpur district on Friday (18 November) evening. The fire broke out at the colony around 6:15 pm in front of Karim Jute Mill at Malanga village and spread soon. On information, a firefighting unit rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze around 7:30 pm, said Subhas Baroi, station officer of Faridpur Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Cyclone Midhili : Ctg port resumes activities
As the effects of Cyclone Midhili have passed, the authorities concerned resumed activities of Chattogram port on Friday (17 November) night. At least five ships were seen anchored at the port at midnight and loading and unloading activities also resumed.
